The Endless wait.. - Sharon (4th July, 2009)

Minute by minute the clock ticks on,
Hours by hours and days are gone...

Upon my lonely window sill,
I sit and wait for the phone to ring.

Then slowly my eyes wander...
To the branch of the tree yonder...

Two little love birds singing in glee,
Lost in each other for all eternity...

Reminds me of the times of our togetherness,
Our little chats full of tenderness...

All of a sudden my eyes trail back,
To my phone on my table below the rack...

A new hope arises as it starts to ring...
But alas my joy recoils back like a spring...

I answer the phone lifelessly,
For my thoughts still wander back to thee...

Minute by minute the clock ticks on,
Hours by hours and days are gone...

The tears that once ran down my cheeks,
Have dried and left salty streaks.

My eyes that once sparkled and shined,
When thoughts of you filled my mind,

Now lay barren, filled with emptiness...
Devoid of any eagerness...

The once bubbly fountain-of-life,
Now lies arid, drab and dry...

You broke your promise, forgot your vow
Left me alone, here and now...

To wither up, shrivel and die...
Like a flower deprived of water and sky...

Do words we exchanged hold no weight?
Tell me what is our love's fate.

Will I ever resurrect from this deprived state?
Or am I forever doomed to The endless wait...

  1. An Honest opinion....

It is one of the truest poems I have ever read.
The flow, the words, the feelings put into it depict the style of a great poet.
