Power of the truth

When fear escapes your body 

And your mind lies still 

The truth becomes your weapon 

No wrath or injustice can kill 

In the depths of the shallows

Lies the unspoken truth 

Try and try as they might 

Your soul they cannot uproot

Like a Phoenix from the ashes

You shall rise and take charge

And spread the light of righteousness 

In the glum darkness of their hearts 

The day has come when the right will prevail

For there exists no power that this truth can derail

A Journey to the Land of Nod

A hippie girl
With a skirt that twirls.
The silver moonlight
Making grass blades shine bright.
Woods that cast shadows 
On the forest floor.
Grazing cows
Who want nothing more.
These are the things 
That set me free.
And set my mind adrift
On the slumbering sea. 

To my alter ego...

Today I stand here in your shoes

Try and think about your blues

Not far away, nor long ago

Everything seemed just so…

Perfection, there never was

But then, isn't that just a moot clause?

You saw what no one else could see

I wish I could keep you for all eternity...

When I found myself lost in this alien world

Faith in myself, you helped confirm

My mind now whirs with thoughts astray

What is wrong and what's the right way

As off the beaten path I tread

Listening to the voices in my head

Learning lessons along the way

These words with you, I'd like to share...

In this make belief world

As you struggle to find the truth

When all your thoughts & beliefs have taken the boot

Just know that sometimes it is best

To follow your heart and not get stressed!

There's things to do, and places to see

Dreams to live, And lives to dream

It is easy to get caught in this web of life

And forget about the things you like

I know it's hard to break away, from this mundane frenzy,

But sometimes it feels nice, to let go and just be crazy!

And if one day you find yourself

standing all alone out there

Don’t be afraid to turn around and see

There's always another nut who cares!

So go on out, and seize the day

Don’t be afraid to live, love and parlay!

Always remember to listen to the feeling

And whatever you do, don't stop believing...

The Perfect Storm

A dazzling flash lights up the world around us 

As if to capture us as a photograph on a still frame of time 

A shrill clap of thunder breaks the silence around us

As the world recedes back into its dark unforgiving emptiness 

Slowly the Thunder clouds come rolling 

And large warm drops of rain start falling 

As the heavens cry in despair 

Two lost souls in the middle of nowhere 

No sign of life nor shelter in sight 

Just tall green grass swaying side to side

Lightening striking here and there 

Our hearts were racing.. 

Frantically searching for a lair... 

Suddenly a gust of wind carried to us the sound of distant chimes 

New hope was born in our minds 

Stumbling falling over the grass 

We ran towards the distant brass 

Thunder raged and lightning struck 

As we made our way through the muck 

My heart was trembling my hands were cold 

Drenched in that pouring rain 

My sanity I could no longer hold 

You held me close... 

You gave me strength... 

I knew deep inside... 

On you I can depend... 

We made it to that distant shed 

As all around us the darkness bled 

Thanking our stars for the saving grace 

That gave us shelter till the dawn doth embrace 

Slowly a golden ray of hope 

Crept through the cracks in the battered roof 

Giving the world new strength to cope

"All will be good, and here is the proof!" 

It's strange how the day looks brighter,

Colors of the realm so much more vibrant

When the sun shines after rain

Almost as if it's out of a fairy tale! 

All the balance of the world is slowly restored

As life falls back into the norm

In the aftermath of The perfect storm!!

Enigma..

The first time I saw you,
My heart jumped 'to my mouth...
The walls around me disappeared
And gave way to clouds!

You sent my mind in a tizzy!
My thoughts went astray...
The only thing I could think of,
Was you in that dark gray..

The night before the next day
Seemed so freaking long!
I couldn't wait till I saw you again
I hoped nothing would go wrong!

You were but a stranger
Whose name I didn't know
But there was something about you
That wouldn't let me go...

Was it your charming smile...
Sparkling eyes...
Or that confidence,
That couldn't be disguised...

There was surely something about you
That roused my curiosity...
But hard as i might have tried,
I could not unravel your identity...

As days of futile search went by
My hopes diminished by and by...
But look at the irony of destiny,
The answer dwelt right next to me!

Somehow I never understood the mind..
It wants to know when it doesn't,
And once it knows,
It wishes it wouldn't!

Facts distort memories...
And give rise to insecurities...
I want to see you without any stigma..
When I close my eyes...
I want to picture, my sweet enigma...

It feels good to know what you dont know...

Your greatest challenge in life is yourself. We live in this world wondering why people simply cannot understand something that seems so straightforward and simple to us. But true realization dawns when we begin to understand that our beliefs, our thoughts, our principles that we hold so dear, are simply our own point of view. There is no right and wrong. It is only when we open our mind and begin to doubt ourselves and consider alternative "truths", do we discover that all the while those who we believed to be fools are infact not. And the anger we felt towards them for not understanding the "simple facts", begins to dissolve.
We may not be able to change or let go of our owns beliefs for the rest of our lives, but that is ok, as long as we dont think that we are the only ones who are right and others wrong.
Acceptance of the fact that there can be other justifications just as "correct" as your own, constitutes your own learning in life and your growth as an individual.
